Panic! At The Disco: 'We try to surprise ourselves'

Brendon Urie talks new album, gangsters and bodies buried in Las Vegas desert

Panic! At The Disco are back with new album Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die, and while the record has all the drama and grandoise moments we've come to expect from the Las Vegas band, frontman Brendon Urie claims he, and the band, have matured far beyond their 'emo' roots.

"When I hear the word 'emo' I think - 2005," he tells Gigwise, adding it's no bad thing, and that the band has worked tirelessly since those days to evolve and surprise themselves and fans. The new album is inspired by Urie's love for Las Vegas and its history, and in our interview, the charismatic star discusses bodies buried in the desert and the often-forgotten gangster scene which thrived in the gambling capital of the world.

He also discusses Miley Cyrus.

Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die is out now. Watch our interview with Brendon Urie above.
