Sir Paul McCartney will meet fans and sign copies of his new album, New, at the newly re-opened HMV store on London's Oxford Street today, (18 October, 2013).
The central London shop has official re-opened today (14 October, 2013), and is marking its central London re-launch with a week of free vinyl giveaways. The icing on the cake however, will be a signing session on Friday, 18 October with The Beatles legend himself.
McCartney will be signing copies of his brand new album, titled New, at the Oxford Street branch from 3pm. Tickets for the meet and greet will be given away through Paul McCartney's official website, but there will be a number available for collection on a first come, first served basis at the store.
Speaking of McCartney's appearance at the store, HMV Chairman Paul McGowan says in a statement: "We’re truly honoured to welcome Paul McCartney back to HMV 363 Oxford Street. It sends a clear signal across the world that HMV is truly back in its rightful place as the home of entertainment."
The 363 Oxford Street store holds special significance for the former Beatles star, as it was where the band cut the demo disc that led them to meet George Martin and sign with EMI. The rest, as they say, is history.
Paul McCartney recently thrilled fans in New York, when he performed an unannounced show in Times Square.
