Miley Cyrus' has scored a No.1 album in America with her new album Bangerz, after months of twerking controversy and shocking the world with her x-rated behaviour.

Bangerz, which includes hit singles 'We Can't Stop' and 'Wrecking Ball', has sold 270,000 copies in its first week. Cyrus' previous number one albums include records in her former Disney guise Hannah Montana, and her own solo effort Breakout in 2008.

However, Bangerz wasn't the only new release to make the Top Ten, with seven records making their premiere. Panic! at the Disco's Too Weird To Live, Too Young To Die entered the chart at No.2, shifting 84,000 copies, with Pusha T's My Name Is My Name following closely behind at No.4, debuting with 75,000 units sold. Other Top Ten entires include offerings from Korn, Mayday Parade and the Voice US finalist Cassadee Pope.

Meanwhile, Lorde's Pure Heroine has slipped to No.6, with Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 down to No.5 from the top. With sales slipping by 80% since the first week's sales, The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 has suffered the largest second week sales decline since Kanye West's Yeezus, which saw its sales fall by 81%.

Miley's recent multiple controversial stunts clearly haven't done any damage to her career, with the 20-year-old also grabbing the number one album and single in the UK with Bangerz and 'Wrecking Ball' respectively.
