John Newman and OneRepublic are set to topple Miley Cyrus from the top of the UK chart this week, as they top the albums and singles chart in the midweek charts.
Yorkshire soul star Newman is currently ahead of Pearl Jam on the albums, who have landed at No.2 with Lightning Bolt. Meanwhile, legends Cher and Paul McCartney sit at No.3 and No.4 respectively with their new albums. Jonathan and Charlotte complete the top five with 'Perhaps Love'. All five are new entries.
However, The Official Charts Company reports that 23-year-old Newman is currently just 3,000 copies ahead of US grunge icons Pearl Jam.
Other new entries include industrial goth-rock hero Gary Numan who finds himself at No.10 with his 20th studio album, Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind), while rising pop-folk star Lissie is just one place behind him with Back To Forever.

Meanwhile in the singles chart, OneRepublic's 'Counting Stars' has toppled Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' from the top spot, while Lawson follow closely behind with 'Juliet'. Just 4,000 copies separate the top three.
Other noteable chart placings include Wilkinson's 'Afterglow' at No.5, 'Change Your Life' by Iggy Azalea at No.8, Eminem finds himself at No.13 with 'Rap God' and 'You Wanna Know' by UK rockers Don Broco is a new entry at No.27.
The final chart will be announced at 4pm on Sunday.
