Arcade Fire - Reflektor: what do the critics say?

Arcade Fire's latest release Reflektor has set the internet alight, with everyone forming an early opinion on the Canadian's fourth album.

There was a time when Arcade Fire could do no wrong in the eyes of critics and fans alike. In 2004 their debut Funeral was greeted by a deafening chorus of approval. The Guardian called the album "One of the year's best already, by a mile".

In 2006 follow-up Neon Bible was released to largely positive reviews, although the first signs dissent amongst the press were there. Uncut commented that "at its overblown worst Neon Bible is one of those albums that takes itself too seriously to be taken seriously"

The third album, 2010's The Suburbs, brought all those who had doubted the band back on board. It was arguably even better received than Funeral, and NME went as far as describing the album as '"pretty much perfect". Clearly the Canadians have set the bar high, but can they reach even greater heights with their new offering?

Here we have a look at what the main players have been saying about the hottest release of 2013...
