Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher has paid tribute to former Charlatans drummer Jon Brookes, ahead of tonight's tribute gig at London's Royal Albert Hall.

Beady Eye will perform at the show alongside stars from bands including The Vaccines, New Order, Mumford & Sons and more, and Gallagher has spoken highly of The Charlatan's former drummer.

"He didn't have an ego, do you know what I mean" Gallagher tells the BBC. "I wouldn't claim to be his best mate and that. I only met him through the gigs we've done, but every time I met him I had a splendid time."

He also adds that he signed up for the show as soon as it was announced. He will perform at the show with Beady Eye members, and former Oasis member, Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs.
