Morrissey has made a statement on his much-discussed sexuality, revealing that he is not, as many people believed, homosexual.
After finally releasing his Autobiography as a Penguin Classic earlier this week, the section of the book that appears to be of interest to many people, is where Morrissey speaks of his relationship with Jake Owen Walters.
The book quotes: "Jake and I neither sought not needed company other than our own for the whirlwind stretch to come. Indulgently Jake and I test how far each of us can go before 'being dwelt in' causes cries of intolerable sturggle, but our closeness transcends such visitations."
Though never actually stating if the pair were lovers, or indeed what Morrissey's sexuality is, in the statement he released yesterday Morrissey says: "Unfortunately, I am not homosexual. In technical fact I am humasexual. I am attracted to humans. But, of course ... not many."
In the book he also writes of his lack of interest in girls, taking more interest in "the stylish racing bikes that my father would bring home." So it would appear that we are all none the wiser as to Morrissey's sexuality and that's the way he seemingly wants to keep it.
