Lorde has this week topped the UK iTunes chart with her hit single 'Royals' after only being released at midnight - making it highly likely she will take the No.1 spot on the UK Top 40 this weekend.

She's already seen success with her hit single after reaching the top of the US iTunes chart, Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and hitting the top spot of the charts in Ireland, Canada and her home country of New Zealand. Now she looks destined to dominate the UK charts as well, but all will be revealed tonight (Sunday 20th October).

The single is taken from her forthcoming debut album Pure Heroine, which is set for release on 28 October, 2013.

See the video for 'Royals' below:

Lorde faces competition from last year's X Factor winner James Arthur with his new single 'You're Nobody 'Till Somebody Loves You' and his fellow contestants Union J who's new single 'Beautiful Lie' is currently sitting at No.7 on the UK iTunes Chart.
