OneRepublic have returned to the top of the UK singles chart with 'Counting Stars', after Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' toppled them last week.
The US pop-rockers' hit track first made its top 40 debut back in August, before climbing to No.1 two weeks ago. Miley Cyrus now slips back to the No.2 spot while Lawson are at No.3 with 'Juliet', James Blunt comes in at No.4 with 'Bonfire Heart' and Eminem completes the top 5 with 'Bonfire Heart'.
“This is by far the coolest thing that’s happened to us,” said Ryan Tedder in an interview with OfficialCharts.com. “I’ve had a number of No.1s with other artists, but never one with this band. This is where I spend most of my time; these guys (the band) are like my brothers and we’ve been everywhere and back. This is the highlight of the year!”

Meanwhile, John Newman's debut album Tributes has entered at No.1, beating off tough competition from legends Pearl Jam, Cher and Paul McCartney who were his nearest rivals at numbers 2-4.
“It’s such an amazing thing for an artist to have a Number 1 album, especially on a debut,” John told OfficialCharts.com. “It means so much to me and I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me and helped make this happen. Can't wait to see everyone on tour next week!”
