MIA has revealed how her new track 'Sexodus' was originally offered to Madonna for her MDNA album - but was rejected from the album.
The rapper has already contributed to tracks 'Give Me All Your Luvin' and 'B-Day' on the 2012 and admits that 'Sexodus' could have been the third.
She explains to The Guardian: "I actually played that song to Madonna when I wrote it and said, 'Oh you can have this.' She gave it back to me."
The meaning behind the song prompted a discussion between both of the stars about success and money; MIA not agreeing with Madonna's perception.
MIA goes on to explain the exchange: "So I was like, what d'you do? And she said. 'You spend it! And I said, 'No, I don't think that's the right answer.'"
The response hasn't altered MIA's opinion of the popstar, as she states "Madonna is true to Madonna. She always said she was a material girl."
Sexodus features The Weeknd, and is set to appear on MIA's upcoming album Matangi - due for release on 5 November, 2013.
