No your ears are not decieving you, Nile Rodgers and Chic have been confirmed to play a guest slot on the X Factor.
Rodgers is scheduled to grace the musical killing fields known as the X Factor stage on the 2nd of November for a special edition of the show (most likely to be disco themed). The band will perform a medley of three songs along with Rodgers and his infamous 1959 Fender Stratocaster. The guitar is infamously named 'the hit maker' for it's role in propelling acts such as David Bowie, Madonna and Diana Ross to the top.
The appearance marks what has been one hell of a year for Rodgers who scored a No.1 hit with Daft Punk on 'Get Lucky'. It has also seen him lineup collaborations with the likes of Avicii, David Guetta, Chase & Status, Disclosure and Tensnake. Alongside this with Chic he has taken on huge slots at some of the biggest shows of the year including Bestival and Ibiza Rocks.
With this in mind there is no doubt that Rodgers will bring a certain magic to the show, however it'll be remain to be scene whether his presence is enough to contain the explosive dad on the dancefloor style embarrasment that X Factor inflicts on the country every weekend.
