Lady Gaga, Eminem, and Atoms For Peace are amongst the artists nominated for gongs in the first YouTube MusicAwards which take place next month.

There are six categories overall which include Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Response of the Year. Fans can vote for their favourite act by sharing the YouTube nomination videos across social networking sites.

The nominees, who were determined based on YouTube data from the past year, include a wide variety of acts, with Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber inevitably up for video of the year, and Kendrick Lamar and Rudimental up for YouTube Breakthrough of the Year.

The big question on everyone's lips, however, is who will win the YouTube phenomenon -  the teeth-grindingly awful 'Gangnam Style', or the underground electronic track which quickly became a terrible, terrible monster, 'Harlem Shake'?

The ceremony will be webcast live from New York's Pier 36 on 3 November with shows also taking place in London, Moscow and Seoul in the lead-up to the event. Lady Gaga, Eminem, Arcade Fire, MIA, Earl Sweatshirt, and Tyler, The Creator will all be performing at the ceremony.
