Lady Gaga may have scored a relative flop with her 'Applause' single, but now her ARTPOP campaign looks like it's back on track with new single 'Do What U Want' topping download charts in 63 countries this week.
Seems like less is more - or maybe people just can't enough of R.Kelly, who guests on the new track.
If Lady Gaga manages to hold onto the UK No.1, she will prevent New Zealand newcomer Lorde from scoring a chart topper with her single 'Royals'. The track has set the teenage singer on the path to huge, international acclaim and had been at the top of the UK iTunes chart since its release on Sunday 20 October 2013.

'Do What U Want' is currently No.1 on iTunes charts in key territories including the UK and US, but has also hit the download top spot in places as far flung as Azerbaijan, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Macau, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago and Vietnam. So as they say in Azerbaijan, 'Sizin pəncələr qablaşdırılmış' - which translates as 'put your paws up', obviously.
'Applause', the lead single from ARTPOP was a bit of a racket and reached a disappointing No.5 in the UK and No.4 in the US charts.
