Lady Gaga has changed her ARTPOP plans to make the track 'Venus' her second single after her new R.Kelly collaboration 'Do What U Want' hit No.1 across the world this week.
The star made the confusing change of plans days after the 'promotional' track was release to the sort of international success that previous single 'Applause' lacked entirely. Now, confusingly, 'Do What U Want' has been upgraded to an official single, but 'Venus' will be release on Monday 28 October as previously planned.
The changed in plans was announced on Twitter, with the star writing: "Don’t worry monsters! We are still scheduled to release #Venus this Monday with a snippet on Friday! AND it will STILL have its own video! However we are overwhelmed by the worldwide response + excitement for DO WHAT U WANT feat. R KELLY & are happy to announce it as 2nd Single!"
'Do What U Want' topped iTunes charts in 63 countries this week and if Lady Gaga manages to hold onto the UK No.1, she will prevent New Zealand newcomer Lorde from scoring a chart topper with her single 'Royals'. The track has set the teenage singer on the path to huge, international acclaim and had been at the top of the UK iTunes chart since its release on Sunday 20 October 2013.
