DJ Mike Biggz has released his mash up of Lorde's 'Royals' and MIA's 'Paper Planes'. Listen to the remix below.
Biggz has made sure that New Zealand singer Lorde's, smooth and resonant vocals sit well above the energetic upbeat melody of 'Paper Planes' - making for a pretty dynamic and interesting listen.
Lorde was accused of being racist through her lyrics recently, whilst she commented on the likes of hip-hop royalty and their wealth, with lyrics: "But every song's like gold teeth, grey goose, trippin' in the bathroom / Blood stains, ball gowns, trashin' the hotel room / we don't care, we're driving Cadillacs in our dreams".
So, it's a bit of an odd, and even ironic pairing, when she's remixed seamlessly with MIA - who is upfront about her hip-hop conntections, and even brags: "All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!) / And (KKKAAAA CHING!) / And take your money."
Lorde's hotly-anticipated debut album Pure Heroine is released on 28 October, 2013.
