The 1975 have proven that they do indeed have a sense of humour with their new video for 'Girls'. Watch the clip below.
Taking the piss out of both themselves and pop bands simultaneously, Matt Healy and co's latest visual offering is a lot less serious than their previous videos. 'Sex' was described as a 'short movie', but even that received complaints from fans for not sticking to the black and white aesthetic of their previous promo clips.
"Everything feels totally wrong," complains Matt to the director at the beginning of the video. "It's too pop, and we're not a pop band - this whole scenario is not what we're about. It needs to be black and white for a start."
What follows is an obnoxiously colourful and cheesy montage of scenes that you'd more likely expect in a video from One Direction, The Saturdays or even (*gulp*) Alphabeat. There's even a bit where the band are replaced by lingerie-clad female counterparts, and one bares a pretty striking resemblence to Miley Cyrus.
Well done, lads - we applaud you.
