Brian May is close to finishing work on a selection of unreleased Queen tracks featuring Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson, drummer Roger Taylor has announced.

Taylor told Classic Rock Magazine that May has been working his magic on the previously unreleased songs which feature the late Michael Jackson, saying: "Brian especially has been active working on old tracks. A couple of tracks that Freddie did with Michael Jackson."

According to Taylor, Queen offered to complete the tracks when Jackson's estate couldn't make up their minds on what to do with them, revealing: "They've been hanging around for years and years and Michael's estate haven't really been able to make their mind up about what to do with them. So we suggested we finish them and see. They're pretty good - one of them is great."

'State Of Shock'

Taylor recently revealed he helped audition potential members for the official Queen tribute band, and candidly opened up about his feelings surrounding late frontman Freddie Mercury's death after admitting: "the strangest part was casting the singer".

"There was a time after Fred died when we were all in shock. I couldn’t bear to hear his voice on the radio," he admitted. "We were all the same. Brian (May) and I spoke and it felt like we’d never be able to hear those songs again."
