Australian breakthrough band Jagwar Ma have spoken of how they were overwhelmed at the Q awards on Monday - hanging with the likes of Ronnie Wood and Bez.

Singer Gabriel Winterfield revealed that the presence of other music stars was 'pretty cool', as they enjoyed a bit of star-spotting. "We were sat at our table and there were three empty seats and we were wondering who they were there for," he said. "Then 10 minutes into the ceremony Bez and two friends come and sat down. Ronnie Wood was sitting behind us that was pretty funny."

Taking advantage of the free bar, the band "had a big old laugh which took a few days to recover from". However, they added it was their nerves that made them turn to drink: "I don't know if it's hitting the bar and being all rock, it's more overwhelming, the whole situation was overwhelming for us".
