Scientists believe Kylie Minogue hit could help beat Alzheimers disease

Kylie Minogue's 2001 hit 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' is set to be used by scientists attempting to find a cure for degenerative brain disease Alzheimers.

The track was recently named as the catchiest song of all time in a recent survey, beating more recent hits by the likes of Daft Punk and Robin Thicke to top the poll. Now, scientists claim the findings could be used in the ongoing treatment of the illness.

"Many dementia support groups use music singing and personalised playlists to help those with failing memory," says Professor Alistair Burns from Manchester University's institute of brain behaviour, reports Australian website News.au. "The results could certainly have implications for improving the quality of life for people with dementia."

Kylie Minogue is currently working on a new album, and is now signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation with a release expected in 2014.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, Minogue said, "It's been very interesting to be making an album primarily here – just the slight difference in the way people work. And it's a great new energy being with Roc Nation. It's a very exciting time."

She continued, "It's bringing out something different in me, which is cool," she says. "I need to know what it is to do something different – different style of delivery, different beats, different subject matter. I think that I am a natural chameleon, so that floats my boat...
