Pharrell Williams has spoken about the mystery behind Beyonce's forthcoming album, saying she 'won't put it out until it's ready and feels like it's right to her'.
The super-producer, who is collaborating with the R&B superstar on the record, told Billboard the delay was due to Beyonce's perfectionist tendencies, and er, her star sign.“B’s album is crazy...She’s very particular. She’s a Virgo," he explained. "And she’s not going to put it out until it’s ready and feels like it’s right to her."
Listen to one of Beyonce's newer tracks, 'Bow Down', below:
"She’s got a very specific taste. I guess that’s the reason she’s Beyonce," he continued. "Her name is recognizable around the globe and that’s huge. When you know what you want, you won’t stop until you get it."
However, Williams reassured fans they don't have too much longer to wait for the record, calling the album "almost done", saying: "[Other people are hearing her album] and are like ‘Whoa!’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah, I’m almost done.’ And she’s the queen."
The record will be Beyonce's first since 2011's 4. As well as Pharrell, producers Timbaland and The-Dream will be working on the tracks, and a duet with Justin Timberlake is said to be in the works.
Rumours the record will be released in December surfaced after the chairman of Beyonce's label Columbia, Rob Stringer, told Billboard "We've got records lined up that will hopefully make the beginning of December." When pushed by Billboard for information about Beyonce's release date, Stringer laughed and said: "I would never be quoted as saying anything to do with that."
