Michael Jackson's former doctor, Conrad Murray, has been released from jail early after serving two years for causing the late singer's death.

Murray, 60, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 after Jackson passed away in 2009 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles. The cardiac arrest was allegedly caused by an overdose of the drug Propofol, which Murray was administering to Jackson to help him sleep.

Murray was hired as personal physician in 2009 for the music legend's planned comeback tour This Is It and was due to carry out a four year sentence, but is reported to have left the downtown Los Angeles jail shortly after midnight today, due to overcrowding in the state's prisons.

In more news that is sure to upset Jackson's scores of loyal fans, Murray's lawyers have also filed a civil petition in Texas asking the judge to stop the state medical board's revocation of his medical license. Murray is also reportedly looking to hire a publicist.
