A supergroup made up of members from The Vaccines, Mumford & Sons, JEFF the Brotherhood, Apache Relay and Old Crow Medicine Show played a one-off string of six shows on Saturday and in dresses, to boot.

The group, dubbed Salvador Dali Parton, played six one-off shows in six hours in Nashville, which have been recorded for a special live record which will be released in the future.

Winston Marshall of Mumford & Sons, Justin Young of The Vaccines, Jake Orrall of JEFF the Brotherhood, Mike Harris of Apache Relay and Gill Landry of Old Crow Medicine Show all made up the supergroup, whose songs were described by Rolling Stone as sounding "like a sloppy, sludge-y early Black Sabbath ground down into Dadaist shambles."

The band's lyrics are considerably more racy than the folk-rock broodings of Mumford & Sons, with one song reportedly featuring the lines "I want to suck and fuck you black and blue."

Out, also, were the prim waistcoats, as Marshall and co reportedly rocked a bizarre mix of fancy dress, including a rabbi costume, KISS makeup, Friar Tuck robes, and white dresses.

The Vaccine's Justin Young, who fronted Salvador Dali Parton during their brief incarnation, told Rolling Stone: "I've toured with pretty much all of [these guys], I've never played in a band with them. I don't know when it all began, but this is the end."
