Arcade Fire are storming to the top of the UK album charts this week, with fourth album Reflektor easily outselling nearest rival Katy Perry by three to one.
Although it seems almost inevitable now with the band's huge profile and relentless publicity campaign, it would only be the band's second album to go straight into the UK charts at No.1 after 2010's The Suburbs.
The album, released on 29 October, divided critics on its release but most fans reacted with glee when it was streamed online last week. The band's army of fans have answered the band's recent plea to show their loyalty and bought it in their droves.

Elsewhere in the abum charts, Union J are at No.3 with their self-titled effort, while rising New Zealand star Lorde is at No.4 with her stunning debut, Pure Heroine. James Blunt completes the top five with Moonlanding.
Also, Lou Reed's Transformer is due to enter the charts at No.24 after the singer's recent passing. Reed's second solo album is regarded as a classic, and hopefully one good thing to come from his death will be his music being appreciated by a whole new generation.
