Mercury Prize host Lauren Laverne mistakenly introduced James Blake as fellow singer James Blunt at the awards ceremony last night, much to the presenter's embarrassment.
Laverne made the blunder whilst introducing the electronic musician onto the stage to perform a track from album Overgrown, which later won the coveted award.
The presenter later tweeted: "Never felt better than I do tonight about artists who have fractionally dissimilar fore and surnames. #MercuryPrize #Irony".

Laverne, who presents a weekday show on BBC Radio 6 Music, took to Twitter again later to joke with her followers: "Thanks for the tweets of support, guys. You're beautiful. OH GOD IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN."
The 'You're Beautiful' singer also took to Twitter to respond:
So did I win!? @MusicWeekNews: Sounded a lot like @laurenlaverne just introduced @jamesblake as @JamesBlunt #MercuryPrize #giveitsomeBlunty

Blake (a rather different kettle of fish to weedy-voiced 'You're Beautiful' crooner James Blunt) saw off stiff competition from top three favourites Laura Mvula, Disclosure, and David Bowie to snag the Mercury Prize for second album Overgrown, having previously been nominated for his eponymous 2011 debut.
"I feel jubilant and confused," the musician later told The Independent of his win.
