Kanye West has been forced to postpone the remaining dates on his forthcoming series of Yeezus shows due to an incident that has damaged his stage equipment.

After a string of postponed dates in Vancouver and Anaheim left fans disappointed, the rapper's spokesperson issued a statement announcing the tour will be postponed indefinitely due to damaged stage equipment that is "central to the staging of The Yeezus Tour."

The gear, which included a 60 ft circular LED screen was damaged on the way to the Vancouver show.

The spokesperson added the tour will resume once the pieces are 'reengineered and refrabricated', saying: "Kanye West will not compromise on bringing the show, as it was originally envisioned and designed, to his fans.

The Yeezus Tour kicked off in Seattle on October 19th, instantly making headlines due to the appearance of a man dressed as Jesus Christ on stage during The College Dropout track 'Jesus Walks'. With Kendrick Lamar and A Tribe Called Quest alternately acting as support, the tour is now due to in Anaheim December 13th.

West recently made a cameo in 30 Seconds to Mars' video for track 'City of Angels', an ode to Los Angeles, in which he reveals his rather odd middle name, saying: "My name is Kanye West... But, actually, I'm one of the few people whose middle name is 'Motherfucking.'"
