It’s been three years since Tinie Tempah's phenomenal debut album first hit the shelves, was heralded as 'ahead of its time', with some claiming it changed the British hip-hop and grime music scene overnight.
With his latest creation Demonstration upon us, the main question remains of what could possibly top the dizzy heights that Disc-Overy brought? However, Tinie Tempah is a smart musician and has wisely not chosen to try and make an album to just simply match its predecessor’s success.
Tempah has brought in the best and brightest in British music to help collaborate and produce Demonstration - and potentially even launch another unknown artists career; this being with opening track 'Someday (Place In The Sun)' with Ella Eyre, who is certainly one to watch in the future, Tempah wasn’t wrong about Emeli Sande I doubt he’ll be proven wrong again; Eyre’s superb vocal talents and Tempah’s distinct rap bars make it a certain chart contender.
Other dead certs for chart topping sucess from Demonstration are with 'Its Okay' featuring Labrinth; fans of both artists will already know how good the two are when they combine and this is no different, Labrinth’s chorus vocals layers the track just right beneath the irresistible head bopping beat and on this track above all it shows the evolution of Tinie Tempah, his rap flow abilities are beyond par of what they were three years ago.
The best track, however, is one without collaborations, where Tempah goes solo on '5 Minutes', the combining of catchy electronic rock rhythms and rap bars is what Tempah excels in, merging two genres as one.
It would be wrong to compare Disc-Overy to Demonstration; this is the Tine Tempah of now. It is a statement of his evolution as an artist and how his maturity and experience have now made him better than ever.
