Nicki Minaj has responded to Kendrick Lamar's controversial, peer-dissing 'Control' verse - despite the fact she wasn't one of the rappers he called out.
The 'Beez In The Trap' rapper told New York's Power 105.1 FM she hoped the reason Lamar hadn't mentioned her was due to his manners.
"I'm probably in the top five motherfuckers he did mention, so go and do your motherfuckin' research," she said, adding: "But I also feel like he's one of those respectful gentlemen that probably felt like, "I don't want to say a female's name'."

"Or maybe he just don't think the kid is ill. But the kid know the kid is ill, so I don't need to be on nobody's dick," she continued. (We are assuming "the kid" refers to herself in this instance.)
For anyone still in doubt, Minaj, 30, closed the interview by saying: "I'm the king of New York. I'm the queen of New York. Let me tell you why. Platinum albums. Albums. Plural. No.1 in five motherfuckin' countries."
However, the rapper later played down her comments on Twitter and stated who she thought was the real king of the city, writing: "It was all in fun. For the record, Hov is the king of NY in my eyes."
Kendrick Lamar's peer-baiting verse on Big Sean's track 'Control' was leaked online earlier this year and caused uproar due to his confident takedown of musical peers including Tyler, the Creator, Drake, Mac Miller, and A$AP Rocky.
Minaj also confirmed her third album will be out in 2014, saying it's "very different" from anything she has done before.
