Actor David Morrissey is reported to be voicing the audio book of namesake Morrissey's best-selling memoir 'Autobiography'.
In an apparent case of nominative determinism, The Walking Dead and Basic Instinct 2 star David Morrissey is to read out loud the written musings of Steven Patrick in the new recordings, available from 5th December.
Quite how successfully David will be able to lend gravitas to such lines as "I died a thousand deaths of sorrow and lay down in the woods to die" remains to be seen.
Singer Morrissey has been pillared in some parts for the score-settling nature of his book, which many have compared to Steve Coogan's spoof autobiography 'I, Partridge'. He discusses in bitter terms the infamous court case with former Smiths drummer Mike Joyce, as long as other legal battles. He describes Joyce as "a flea in search of a dog".
The Smiths frontman is currently recovering from a mysterious incident, as yet unexplained, which left him with several injuries.
