The 'music industry slump' seems to have hit everyone, even Smith's frontman Morrisey. But according to his former collaborator Boz Boorer, the singer hasn't stopped writing new material.
In an interview with God Is In The TV, Boorer revealed that Morrissey's been unable to land a record deal since his last album 'Years of Refusal' released in 2009 through Decca/Polydor. But is hasn't stopped the Smiths frontman writing.
"Not with regard to shows but Morrissey is unable to secure a record deal so we haven't made a record in a few years, despite having 'arsenal of new material," says Boorer.
Morrissey has also just released his 'Autobiography' with The Walking Dead actor David Morrissey recording the voiceover for the audibook version to be released on 5 December. Boorer commented on the book saying: "I have only just started reading it but I am finding it very well written, informative and funny."
But the luck seems to have not been in favour of the Smith's frontman who was recently reported to have been in hospital with a concussion, whiplash and arm injury after an apparent car collision in LA. This followed Morrissey suffering a bleeding ulcer in January, double pneumonia in the spring and severe food poisoning in July on his South American Tour.
