Arcade Fire's Reflektor storms to the top of US Billboard chart

Canadian indie-rockers Arcade Fire will surely be celebrating after reaching the top spot on the Billboard 200 with latest album Reflektor, selling over 100,000 copies in its first week.

The album is their second US No.1 hit since their third studio album The Suburbs made the top spot in 2010 with 156,000 units shifted. This time, This time, their fourth studio efforted has sold 140,000 copies in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan - storming ahead of Katy Perry's 'Prism' which fell to the No.2 spot after only selling 92,000 copies in its second week of release.

The news comes after Arcade Fire having been announced to headline Lollapolooza festival next year in Chile and Argentina along with Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Nine Inch Nails, as well as Primavera festival in Barcelona.

The band are also set to play two intimate gig's under the name 'The Reflektors' next week on Monday 11 November and Tuesday 12 November at the Roundhouse in London before they head off to Glasgow and Blackpool.
