The Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl joined the Zac Brown band on stage last night at the Country Music Awards to perform new song 'Day of the Dead'.

Now in their 47th year, the Country Music Awards isn't a show that Dave Grohl would normally be associated with, but last night (November 6) saw him bring out the inner country artist. Joining the Zac Brown band on the drums they performed a bluesy, upbeat piece with pop-tinged edge and a stone rock bridge atypical of Grohl's influence.

In the clip above we can see Grohl really bring out a new edge to the band, exhibited by the weight he brings on the drums. This is something that maybe incorporate into the band a lot more of as it is being reported that Grohl has taken over production duties on the band's new record.
