Jay Z has been hit with a lawsuit by TufAmerica Inc. over an alleged infringement of copyright relating to his song 'Run This Town' ft. Kanye West and Rihanna.

The allegation is that he sampled Eddie Bo and Al Scramuzza's 1969 hit 'Hook and Sling'. TufAmerica Inc. bought the rights for the song in 1996, and it might prove to be a shrewd business decision if they get the payments they're after from Jay-Z's huge track from 2009.

The suit demands that "proceeds from ‘Run This Town’ and damages to be determined at trial, plus a court order to halt further distribution and exploitation” of the Eddie Bo song".

If successful, the likelihood is that TufAmerica would take a significant payment in exchange for the continued distribution of the song.

Jay Z has previously been accused of using music without the composer's permission, this time for 2000 track 'Big Pimpin'. The nephew of Baligh Hamdy, who wrote song 'Khosora, Khosora' chased the rapper through the courts for several months. The case was ultimately dismissed.
