Legendary R&B warbler Mariah Carey has voiced a character on cartoon sitcom American Dad.
Carey, 43, will play character Laura on the November 24 episode of the show, and executive producer Matt Weitzman praised the singer's performance, saying: "Mariah was great to have in the studio. She'd never done voiceover work before, but she was clearly so comfortable in front of the mike. She's naturally funny."

Carey's character Laura is a football fan who appears in a daydream family patriarch Stan has whilst he's visiting his inlaws on Thanksgiving. American Dad is Carey's first foray into television since her stint as a judge on fellow Fox programme American Idol.
The singer is preparing to release her fourteenth studio album, The Art of Letting Go, which is set to feature appearances from Q-Tip and R Kelly, and production from Hit-Boy and The-Dream. The second single from the album, also titled 'The Art of Letting Go', is due to be released today (November 11).
