Lady Gaga has been named one of US Glamour Magazine's Women Of The Year at their 23rd annual awards ceremony in New York this week.

Fresh from the release of her much-anticipated third studio album ARTPOP, the singer was recognised for her charity work, bagging the Monster Talent Award for her Born This Way Foundation, which was founded by herself and her mother Cynthia Germanotta in 2011. The foundation aims to support young people whilst "fostering a more accepting society" and create a "safe community".

Watch the video for Lady Gaga's 'Applause' below:

Gaga and the other award winners, who included actors Lena Dunham and Rose Byrne and model Karlie Kloss, were praised by US Glamour Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive, who said: "Glamour's Women of the Year awards are all about saluting women whose work helps to change the world, and that mission has clearly been accomplished with this year's group of honorees. I'm so blown away by the range of achievement, bravery, depth, smarts, and moxie they have demonstrated ."

It's been a busy week for Gaga, who also debuted VOLANTIS, an erm, flying dress, at the launch party for ARTPOP - artRAVE (so. many. capitals). The dress took two years to make by her design team at TechHause, the technical branch of her Haus of Gaga, the singer's creative team. VOLANTIS didn't quite fly in the end unfortunately, but it did gain a good few feet of air.
