Following the trend that has seen 'Blurred Lines' boycotted by over 20 universities, University College London (UCLU) has now joined the banning bandwagon and put the track out of commision.
Due to the track's questionable sexual politics in his lyrics, it has been banned at a slew of universities, including University of London, Edinburgh, Leeds, Kingston, Derby, Chester, Brighton, Exeter and West Scotland.
"UCLU have just passed motion to not play blurred lines in union spaces & events. Solidarity with all survivors!" tweeted UCLU woman's officer after the hit was banned by the university.

The first university to ban the song from its student union, the University of Edinburgh, banned the song as part of a new policy to "end rape culture and lad banter", whilst SubTV, a media channel that broadcasts in student unions nationwide also barred the song from their playlist.
The Student's Guild at the University of Exeter have voted for the song to be removed from student union playlists, saying: "A song that implies a woman is 'an animal' and who 'wants it' because of the way she is dressed is not acceptable. The language within the lyrics and the images within the promotional video are utterly degrading to the female subject."
