Lily Allen returns with all guns blazing on new single 'Hard Out Here'

This certainly isn't for a John Lewis advert

Has motherhood mellowed outspoken singer Lily Allen? No chance. The Londoner is back with new single 'Hard Out Here', and she's as controversial as ever.

Unveiling the clip on her official Twitter page today, the track marks the first cut from her upcoming third studio album.

A million miles from her sweet but beige cover of Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know' for the John Lewis Christmas TV advert campaign, 'Hard Out Here' is a more cutting attack on the misogyny of modern pop culture and the music industry, with the chorus focussing on the pitfalls of being 'a bitch'. It seems to take a mild dig at the likes of Robin Thicke.

The video itself follows similar themes, with Allen having liposuction surgery, surrounded by twerking dancers and sucking a banana. There's also a scene which closely resembles Robin Thicke's banned Beats Pill speaker advert. Oh Lilly.
