Robbie Williams has given a stark warning to ubiquitous pop starlet Miley Cyrus, saying that he believes the level of attention she's currently receiving on a global scale is "rehab making".
Talking to The Mirror, he expressed extreme concern for the young 'Wrecking Ball' star.
"Miley's got the world talking and looking at her," said Williams. "It has a detrimental effect on your psyche."
Williams has of course been in a similar situation himself, first with Take That and then with his solo career. Talking of the pitfalls of fame, he reveals: "I've had a similar light shine on my direction and it fucks you up - for a long time."
Coming over like a benevolent but concerned uncle, he gave his views on Cyrus's recent antics, saying: "She's just a kid. She's a kid who looks as though she's rebelling against her father and rebelling against the industry that put her in a Hannah Montana-shaped box."
He doesn't blame the young star, but feels rather that she is merely the victim of her huge success, finishing with: "She makes good pop records, she's got a nice body and a beautiful face. She's a good pop star. But that spotlight is too intense even for the most well-rounded people. They'd find it impossible to deal with"
