Lady Gaga's ARTPOP has had its speculative sales slashed by experts, who now predict it will sell 75% less than previous release, Born This Way.

The album was released on Monday (11 November) and has met with luke warm reactions from critics. However despite the promo drive, sales figures aren't as hot as predicted with an estimated 260,000 copies to be sold within the first week of sales. This figure is slashed from the original forecast of 300,000 to 500,000 albums sold.

Contrary to what the figures might have you believe ARTPOP is still on course to reach the No.1 spot, despite the figures that show a 75% decrease in sales for Lady Gaga in comparison to those of previous album, Born This Way. It has been speculated that the drop in sales has to do with the fact that Amazon sold the Born This Way album at 99 cents, essentially juicing the figures of the album.

Katy Perry's PRISM sold 286,000 and Miley Cyrus' Bangerz sold 270,000 copies in their first weeks on sale. The final chart placings will be announced on Wednesday 20 November.
