Jack White and his record label Third Man Records are to launch a food drive helping a Nashville charity for Thanksgiving.

The Great Third Man Turkey Drive will see the former White Stripes, Raconteurs, and more recently the Dead Weather frontman and his crew assist the Nashville Rescue Mission in collecting food for the homeless, by offering free seven inch records from its store in return for donations. The rescue mission aims to collect "1000 turkeys, food and other desperately needed materials for the folks they help" by November 26.

As well as a free seven inch record, donators will recieve their image on Third Man Records store's Wall of Fame. The most charitable contributor will snag the ultra rare Dead Weather Triple Decker record, a 7-inch single embedded in a previously unreleased 12-inch vinyl, which can only be listened to once you remove it from the 12-inch.

Third Man Records are valuing a turkey at $25, clothes and canned food at $5, and small cans for $2.50. So if you happen to live in Nashville, what are you waiting for?

It was recently announced a host of seminal rockabilly and punk artists will be paying tribute to the music of Jack White in a compilation album. The likes of Wanda Jackson and Gary US Bonds have all contributed to Rockin' Legends Pay Tribute to Jack White, which is due for release November 18.
