More about:

R.E.M got together last night to perform together, live on stage for the first time since their split. Well, three out of four of them anyway. Watch footage of their reunion below.

Michael Stipe, Mike Mills, Peter Buck and Bill Berry were all seen together at GA's 40 Watt Club in Athens. However, as most took to the stage to perform '(Don't Go Back To) Rockville', Michael Stipe chose not to join his fellow former bandmates on stage.

Since their split two years ago, R.E.M vowed that they would never reunite, and although last night's performance wasn't 100% complete, it's close enough.

Watch the footage of the band's performance, below:

It's unsure as to whether or not this was just a one-off performance or if the band have something further to announce, but it looks like fans will be waiting a while before the full band perform together once again.
