Kanye West's troubled Yeezus tour got back on the road last night (17 November) in Philadelphia.
As expected, things got off to an extravagant start with acrobatics, exploding mountains and the infamous jesus duet that set the internet alight last month. It was the first show since 28 October when the delay on the tour was announced, so Kanye took the time to indulge in one of his infamous rants for the audience.
"They don’t want you to be you," he said. Addressing the radio DJ's and the criticism he received for his musical output recently:"If a slave got too strong, and he was talking too loud. They’d say ... We're gonna put this slave in front of a crowd and whip his ass until 'what now?!'"
"Anybody that’s a fan [of me] is a fan of themselves," he also said moving onto his audience, "Anybody that’s a fan can do anything!"
Kanye's Yeezus tour suffered delays after a 60-foot LED screen was damaged during a road accident, whilst the tour has resumed, various dates and stop offs have been removed from the schedule. The tour includes support from Pusha T, A Tribe Called Quest, Kendrick Lamar and Flying Lotus.
