Savages, Moderat, Jon Hopkins on the Rough Trade Albums of 2013 list

Independent record store Rough Trade have released their Albums of 2013 list, awarding US singer-songwriter John Grant the top spot.

John Grant, formerly a member of alt-rock group The Czars, was awarded the No.1 spot for his Pale Green Ghosts EP, which has recieved widespread critical acclaim. Featuring guest vocals from Sinead O'Connor, the record was made in the wake of the discovery he had HIV, which was diagnosed shortly after the release of his first solo record, Queen of Denmark.

Others to make the top ten include post-punk outfit Savages, the Apparat-Modeselektor project Moderat, and electronic musician Jon Hopkins.
