Pop singer Justin Timberlake has opened up about his future aspirations, saying that he would love to branch out into country music.

Timberlake who recently featured on a country track 'The Auld Triangle' with Marcus Mumford told Sirius XM's Hot 30 Live that when he was growing up he was influenced by all genres, including country music. The 20/20 Experience contains elements of that influence with the track 'Drink You Away', a song that JT said he hugely enjoyed writing:

"The song is awash with Tennessee swagger and country-flecked guitars and is a sound we'd be more than happy to explores further in the future."

Moving onto the genre itself, Timberlake made his aspirations clear saying that he has his eyes on "Best Country Album", saying that there is "time for that". This year he received nominations in the pop, soul and R&B categories at this year's American Music Awards.

"I just did an interview earlier today and I said 'I'm America, that's what I am - in all sense of the word'," he said. "I grew up outside of Memphis, Tennessee, and I listened to country music, R&B music, classic rock... everything."
