Queens Of The Stone Age and Queen gigs to be shown on Channel 4

Channel 4 has announced a new series of music broadcasts, which will include iconic gigs, documentaries and more on some of the biggest rock bands of all time.

The broadcaster has revealed plans for a series of new music one-offs to be shown throughout their autumn and winter season, including a special Rock Night hosted by legendary shock-rocker, Alice Cooper. He will host an evening of shows including 50 Years Of Rock Excess: Amps, Whips and Rebel Riffs, which looks back on the influence of The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who and Black Sabbath helped shape the genre.

Channel 4 will also broadcast Queen's legendary 1986 gig at Wembley Stadium, and bringing things up to date, Queens Of The Stone Age's headline set at this year's iTunes Festival in London.

Queen's 1986 Magic tour was their last ever with Freddie Mercury, and took place following the release of their A Kind Of Magic album. The Wembley Stadium show also resulted in a live double album.
