James Arthur has cancelled all upcoming work commitments after being diagnosed with 'acute exhaustion', after a truly catastrophic week of scandals.
"Following an emergency doctors appointment on Thursday 21st November, James Arthur was diagnosed with acute exhaustion and instructed to rest for seven days. Regretfully he has to cancel all engagements in that period," a publicist for the X Factor winner confirmed today.
The news comes after a week of blunders from Arthur, including the now-notorious homophobic/racist diss track, which was criticised by everyone from Frankie Boyle to Matt Lucas, and a gay rights row over text with former fellow X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan, which she published on Twitter, calling Arthur a "dick".
iTunes have even began offering customers who took offence at the 'You're Nobody Til Somebody Loves You' singer's slurs a refund on his debut album.
