And all just in time for Christmas...

Sony will re-release a reissue of rock n' roll legend David Bowie's Peter and the Wolf recording, originally released 35 years ago.

Announced on Bowie's official facebook page, Sony have released a reissue of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf narrated by the rock god himself via Sony Music Classical on CD with a digital issue also released on the 22 November.

The original copy of the record was released 35 years ago in 1978 on the RCA Red Seal label with music performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Eugene Ormandy.

Bowie originally recorded the record in the Christmas spirit as it was apparently a present for his seven-ear-old son Duncan at the time. Now it seems we can all buy the record for our Bowie-loving children this year as well - it certainly makes a better option than the new One Direction album.
