Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has discussed details of the band's forthcoming album, describing it as "fucking rad" and "badass".
Grohl told Rolling Stone magazine that the band had taken a whole new approach to the making of the record, which will be their eighth.
"It’s badass," he said. "We’re doing something that nobody knows about, it’s fucking rad. We begin recording soon, but we’re doing it in a way that no one’s done before and we’re writing the album in a way that I don’t think has been done before."

Grohl has also featured on an upcoming album by country outfit The Zac Brown Band, playing drums and producing a number of tracks. "They're unbelievable. The band is so good they can be tracked live, we didn't fuck with computers, we tracked live, four-part harmonies around one microphone. It’s rocking," Grohl told Rolling Stone of the experience.
Foo Fighters are due to perform a massive comeback gig in Mexico in December. Rehearsals already seem to be underway, as the band posted a photo of a blood-splattered guitar on their Facebook page.
