Entertainment website E Online has caused somewhat of a stir online after a posting a picture of Ian 'H' Watkins from Steps instead of the shamed Lostprophets' singer in a story about the latter's court case. See a screen grab of the mistake below.

Yesterday (Tuesday 26 November, 2013), Watkins appeared at Cardiff Crown Court where he admitted charges of attempting to rape a baby, as well as the sexual assault of a child under 13. He also admitted three counts of sexual assault involving children and six involving taking, making and possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal. The court was told how Watkins had extreme illegal pornography on his computers, had boasted of wanting to blow meth smoke in a baby's face, and even filmed encounters he'd had with 16-year-old Lostprophets fans in school uniforms.

However, fellow Welshman and singer Ian 'H' Watkins (pictured above) has often been the victim of mistaken identiy since the charges came to light. Now, E Online made the following blunder - sparking a massive reaction across social networks:

The article was online and remain unchanged for several hours, but has since been removed.

Earlier this week, pop singer 'H' posted a message on his Twitter saying he was going to "take a break" from the social networking site following abuse mistakenly sent to himself rather than former Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins:

A Facebook fan page for Watkins of Steps fame, 37, posted a message pleading users to stop leaving abuse on the page, explaining the '5, 6, 7, 8' singer has nothing to do with Lostprophets' Watkins, who was yesterday described as a "determined and committed paedophile" by the court QC.

Messages posted on H's Facebook page included death threats calling him "dirty vile scum".

Ian Watkins, 35 from Pontypridd, will be sentenced on 18 December, 2013.
