Arctic Monkeys and Katy Perry are the first acts to be announced to perform at the 2014 BRIT Awards, each celebrating a massive year in their respective careers.
Taking place on 19 February 2014 at London's O2, the event will be broadcast live on ITV, with actor James Corden hosting the show for a fourth year. Arctic Monkeys will open the show, the first time they have ever performed at The BRIT Awards.
Speaking of her performance at the biggest event in the UK's music calendar, Perry praised the BRIT Awards for their music policy, saying in a statement: "The BRITs has always showcased the music that I love and am influenced by," she said. "It's an honour to play at such a prestigious event where musicality shines at its brightest."
"I really love the BRITs," added James Corden of his return to the show. "I'm such a fan. I'll miss not doing it after this one but fully intend to enjoy every second of BRITs 2014."
