Banks, Joel Compass, The Vamps and George Ezra have all been tipped for big things next year in MTV's Brand New For 2014 shortlist.
At a ceremony last night (Thursday 27 November, 2013), MTV Brand New announced their 2014 Shortlist presented at the Drury Club in London. Previous years' nominees include the likes of Haim, Lady Gaga, The Vaccines, Justin Bieber, Tom Odell and Tinie Tempah.
The full shortlist is:

Ella Eyre
Elyar Fox
George Ezra
Joel Compass
Kwabs
Royal Blood
Sam Smith
The Vamps
Nominee Sam Smith said: "Thank you MTV for including me in you Brand New for 2014! I grew up with MTV, so it is really exciting to be a part of this campaign."
Elyar Fox added: "It's so great to be a part of MTV's Brand New list. I've been a big fan of MTV since as long as I remember! All my favourite artists have been played on MTV, and I can't believe that I will be too."

The shortlisted artists will go head to head in a public vote that opens on 16 December, before a winner is announced early February 2014.
